Optima Lifesciences Hosts Seminar and Inaugurates New Manufacturing Facility

Optima Lifesciences recently hosted a well-attended technical seminar on “Understanding and Minimizing Lameness in Poultry,” with over 125 participants from the Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association (MH) and industry leaders across India.

Key Presentations on Poultry Lameness

The seminar kicked off with an insightful presentation by Dr. Nivedita Pande, who discussed the challenges of lameness in poultry and the role of analytical epidemiology in identifying and mitigating the issue. Her presentation was based on findings from a clinical controlled trial (CCT), where she shared data from pilot studies that demonstrate the potential for early detection of subclinical lameness. This could significantly improve intervention strategies and reduce the long-term impact on poultry health.

Following Dr. Pande’s session, Dr. U.C. Patel, an expert nutritionist, elaborated on the metabolic causes of lameness, emphasizing the economic implications of leg weakness in poultry. Dr. Patel underscored the critical importance of mineral balance—particularly the relationship between calcium, phosphorus, and phytase—in preventing lameness.

Dr. CV Chandrasekaran, Vice President of Optima Life Sciences, concluded the scientific discussions by highlighting the role of improving calcium and phosphorus digestibility to mitigate lameness. In line with these insights, Optima Lifesciences introduced its latest product, Ozyme P Advance, a unique formulation combining potentiated phytase and boron. This product offers 10% higher enzyme activity than conventional phytase (measured in FTUs) and enhanced stability for longer shelf life.

The seminar organized by Director Ms. Sakshi Kulkarni and facilitated by Mr. Vinay Kulkarni, Executive Chairman of Optima Lifesciences, ended on an optimistic note, with participants energized by the potential for advancing poultry health management.

Inauguration of State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility
