Mankind Pharma Ltd. organized an expert talk on “Changing Pathogens- Real Challenge” at Hotel Park Plaza, Zirakpur, Chandigarh on 10th March 2018. The honoured guest speaker was Dr. K.S. Prajapati, PhD for delivering and sharing his expertise with the august gathering. Prominent consultants along with 55 Commercial Layer entrepreneurs of the regions graced the occasion by their benign presence.
Dr. Pramod Malhotra, General Manager (Sales &Marketing), Vet Mankind welcomed the audience & presented the corporate presentation to apprise the gathering about the company and its unbeatable achievements. Everyone appreciated the growth graph of the company, as Mankind is India’s fourth largest pharmaceutical company with a turnover of US$ 800 million. It was shared that Mankind is the only player to organically reach Top 10 in the past decade. Mankind has 19 states of Art WHO-GMP certified USFDA compliant manufacturing facilities. It was applauded by the gathering when it was shared that in the year 2017, Mankind has got another feather in the cap by commencing US operations and hence putting up an office in New Jersey.

Dr. Pramod Malhotra welcomed & introduced the guest speaker Dr. K.S. Prajapati to the audience by highlighting his academic achievements, unravelled experience and fruitful contribution to the poultry industry. Dr. Prajapati has published 77 research papers in national and international journals of repute, presented 93 papers in various national and international seminars/symposia/workshops and has published 24 popular articles. Dr. Prajapati has been closely associated with many Poultry (broilers and layer farms) and Feed millers and has a practical experience of poultry disease challenges in poultry farms.
In his talk, Dr.Prajapati discussed about the factors affecting the production efficiency of bird wherein now a days Health is the most critical factor among other factors like genetics, environment/ climate & management. He emphasized on changes in viral serotypes of complex respiratory disease, which gives titre variations in the flock. He also discussed about the change in symptomatic expression of viral diseases that lead to misleading diagnosis& vaccine failure.He expressed his views on the challenge of cross neutralisation of antibodies of viral diseases& solution to combat the same. The open forum was held wherein queries of the audience were taken up and it proved to be the highlight of the session.
