MoU Signed Between Agrivet Research & Advisory Private Limited, Kolkata and Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati to Launch “CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN POULTRY” at Baramati, Maharashtra
Agrivet Research & Advisory Private Limited, Kolkata, and Agricultural Development Trust (ADT), Baramati, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a “CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN POULTRY (COEP)” at Baramati.
The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, ADT, and Dr. Anirvid Sarkar, Director – Business Excellence, Agrivet. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Uday Patel, Director – Strategic Initiatives, Agrivet, Mr. Vinay Kulkarni, Executive Chairman, Optima Life Sciences, and Mr. Nilesh Nalawade, CEO, ADT.
This landmark collaboration will create an advanced platform dedicated to poultry research, skill development, disease surveillance, advanced laboratory services, sustainable farming, and industry-led innovation. It will act as a national model for convergence of academic insight, rural upliftment, and cutting-edge technology. The Centre will also foster inclusive growth by connecting farmers, entrepreneurs, and researchers, creating a vibrant ecosystem that drives economic opportunity and social progress.
Key Proposed Activities under COEP Include:
- Skill Development Academy to train farmers, youth, and professionals in modern poultry practices and entrepreneurship.
- State-of-the-art Laboratory for diagnostics, microbiology, proteomics, and AMR studies.
- Sustainable Poultry Farming Support Center to promote eco-friendly, profitable poultry models.
- “Waste to Wealth” Innovation Unit to utilize poultry by-products and reduce environmental impact.
- Alternate Agriculture Support Hub integrating poultry with other rural income streams.
- One Health and AMR Monitoring Initiatives, aligned with global health priorities.
- Affordable Protein Production & Consumption Models to ensure nutritional security in underserved regions.
- Execution of Global Upliftment Projects in collaboration with international agencies and NGOs.
- Data Center for Early Disease Warning and establishing a Central Disease Surveillance System for timely and coordinated action across states.
- R&D, Innovation & Discovery Unit fostering research-backed solutions for the Indian poultry ecosystem.
- Modern Technology Development Hub to localize global advancements for rural India.
- Strategic collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of India to align national objectives.
