Hyderabad, October 9, 2026: The Telangana Poultry Federation and the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), Hyderabad Zone, jointly organised World Egg Day celebrations at the Telangana Poultry Federation Building in Peddamberpet on Friday, October 9, to raise public awareness about the nutritional value and health benefits of eggs. The programme was supported by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (IPEMA)–Poultry India.

Dr. Vakiti Srihari, Telangana Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Sports and Youth Services, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Malreddy Ranga Reddy, MLA from Ibrahimpatnam, was the Guest of Honour. Representatives of the poultry industry, farmers and other dignitaries participated in the celebrations.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Uday Singh Bayas, President, IPEMA–Poultry India, highlighted the importance of eggs as an affordable, accessible and nutrient-rich food source.

The occasion also marked a significant milestone as Dr. Vakiti Srihari, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry, Telangana, launched the official Promotional song of the 18th Poultry India Expo 2026, and Unveiled the Poster on the Expo setting the stage for one of the poultry industry’s most anticipated global gatherings.

“Eggs are a powerhouse of nutrition, packed with high-quality protein, essential vitamins, minerals and other vital nutrients that support growth, strength and overall well-being. From children to senior citizens, everyone can benefit from including eggs in their daily diet. Let us make egg consumption a healthy habit to nourish our bodies, build a healthier society and embrace smarter living.”

As part of its World Egg Day 2026 initiatives, IPEMA–Poultry India also conducted a series of awareness and egg distribution activities across Hyderabad on October 8 and 9, taking the message of egg nutrition and healthy eating habits to schoolchildren.

On October 8, marking the eve of World Egg Day, IPEMA–Poultry India organised an engaging awareness initiative titled “Cracking the Egg Code!” at ZPHS, Madhapur. The session introduced students to the fascinating journey of the egg, from farm to table, while helping them understand the science behind poultry production and the nutritional value of eggs. The interactive learning experience was followed by an egg distribution drive, supported by NECC, translating nutritional awareness into a meaningful experience for the students.

Continuing its efforts on October 9, IPEMA–Poultry India, with the support of NECC, conducted a special Egg Distribution Drive at Shree Hanuman Vyayam Shala High School, Sultan Bazar, Hyderabad. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the nutritional benefits of eggs and inspire healthy eating habits among young minds, reinforcing the message, “An Egg a Day, A Healthier Tomorrow!”

These initiatives reflected IPEMA–Poultry India’s commitment to taking the message of egg nutrition beyond industry platforms and into schools and communities, encouraging children to make informed food choices and recognise the role of eggs in a balanced diet.

The programme underscored the importance of promoting balanced nutrition and encouraging greater egg consumption among people of all age groups, while also recognising the poultry sector’s contribution to food security, livelihoods and the economy.

On the occasion, Mr. Uday Singh Bayas also invited poultry farmers, industry stakeholders, entrepreneurs, professionals and the public to participate in the 18th Poultry India Expo 2026, scheduled to be held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, from November 25–27, 2026, with Poultry Knowledge Day on November 24.

Recognised as the World’s Largest Poultry Expo, Poultry India Expo serves as a comprehensive platform bringing together the entire poultry value chain—from equipment manufacturers, technology providers and nutrition specialists to farmers, veterinarians, researchers and industry leaders. The expo aims to foster knowledge exchange, showcase innovations, strengthen business partnerships and explore new opportunities for the future of the poultry industry.

The World Egg Day celebrations and associated awareness initiatives reaffirmed the collective commitment of the organisers and IPEMA–Poultry India to promoting egg nutrition, supporting the poultry industry and advancing a healthier, more informed society.
